2019

It seemed just like yesterday when we started this journey of 365 days, Each one of us with different aspirations and wishes. Day after day it went by slowly, somedays we giggled and laughed with joy filled hearts and life appears to be at it best, other days life throws bitter pills at us and we cried and asked questions of were we went wrong. In the vicissitudes of life lies our strength without us noticing as we go around pursuing our goals. The start of another 365 days is an opportunity for us to reach and touch lives in our own little ways, the smallest of kindness might return in ways we never imagined. Don't let criticism break you rather let it strengthen you, let the rise of people around you be a source for motivation.. So lets walk into 2019 like warriors and soldiers that we are lets close doors to hate and negativity and lets shine bright like the rare diamonds that we are.💪💪💪💪💪💪🌺🌸🌺

LOUD SILENCE🌬

By Bilkisu musa🌺

Episode one

She twisted and turned, she stood up,opened the closet and retrieved another duvet and added to the one she was already using but the cold was still there.
The weight of the day came strong on her as she recalled all that has happened; The day has started just fine and had seemed promising until a knock came from the door, she was busy preparing breakfast for Adil when he had called out,
"Hajiya!, princess!, someone is at the door am trying to summit the article help check who's it".
She let out a sigh and dropped the serving spoon she held and headed for the door. "I wonder which august visitor
I have in September". She needed not to have worried her brain guessing because the face that stared back at hers was that of cousin Hanan . "Is Adi in?" Cousin Hanan demanded, as she stood with her hands on her hip staring deep into Ama's eyes, she straightened her posture and met her gaze evenly
She didn't answer her question neither did she adjust her body to grant her access into the building.
"Princess!, who is that?" Adil called out from the bedroom but before she could say anything cousin Hanan had already announced her presence "Its me Adi", She walked pass Ama and made herself comfortable on the couch; Ama wanted to scream and ask her to leave, she had disliked cousin hanan right from the first day they had met at Adil's uncle's house, It was her first time meeting his family and everyone had been friendly except her. when he had first called her name with the cousin tag she had wondered why.
But afterwards she had found out that the so called cousin hannan wasn't what she was being referred to as, rather she was a very distant relation who doesn't have a single English name tag but then Adi like she calls him likes referring to her as cousin.
And the way she had been all over the place during their wedding made Ama even more unlikable towards her, she had even had her stay in the same room with her and told her tales of how she was meant to marry Adi and how they had had their first kiss, Looking back she wished she shouted and tossed her bridal purse at her face to shut her up, And now the temerity she has to show up without any warning, She looked down at her, Everything about her was loud from the red velvet dress to the color of her lipstick which matches the dress. She recalled the way Adil had confirmed the kiss and afterwards added "But all that happened when we were so young and naive", My heart beats for you now" In an attempt to console her, now nauseates her. Ama's gaze shifted to Adil as he walked into the living room "Ask her to leave", she wanted to say but her voice came first, "I came to see how you are faring its been a while since the wedding, well it seems your wife have made her mark on you "haba", Adi today is exactly 4months since the last time we met you couldn't even call". It wasn't what she had said that disturbed Ama, It was the way she said it in a tone that suggested over familiarity.
The bewilderment Ama had been feeling gave way to intense anger and she wasn't sure how strong it was until he replied with a smile and said
"cousin Hanan you know you can't be forgotten I just needed time with my wife I was going to come visit you one of these days". So she stayed and made herself comfortable like she owned the house, Ama counted and waited for the hours to go quickly so she could leave but that didn't happen and when she came to serve him his dinner he was busy laughing and giggling, saying stuffs she knew he didn't fully understand. "Alhaji your meal is on the dining table", she announced with a smile that seemed to affect only the corner of her lips. She turned to look at cousin hanan "You should be on your way already it's getting pretty late", she reminded.
"ohh I didn't tell you am spending the night here, you sure won't mind lending me something to change into", she asked, In a tone that couldn't have belonged to anyone else. she wanted to tell her she minded in fact there was a thin line stopping her from grabbing her by the tongue and shoving her out of her house and her life, but she wouldn't dare, super Adil won't let her and he had said as much to her when she insisted on her leaving,
it has resulted to an ugly fight. Backs were turned and doors were closed.......

Depression is real😬

 Hello readers
This isn't just one of those write ups which you will read and pass, because you might be slowly losing a loved one right under your nose....
Don't, I repeat don't always make things about you, I do understand that sometimes it's not our fault that our lives are more interesting than others around us but still try as much as possible to let your topic rest bring up theirs, ask about the smallest things going on in their lives even if it seems inconsequential to you but it helps a great deal. Some of our friends/families are living with depression,  crying their self to sleep while u lay beside them without even noticing and fill them with your life's achievement and they will be happy and join you in your merry but that's all in your mind because they are dying slowly in their own lifes, Some might say that it isn't their fault because the patients (yes patients, they need help) won't open up to them, well the question here's have you made urself available? Do u create a little time out of your world to peep in theirs? Depression is not written on anyone's forehead so care for the people around you ask them what they are up to, ask about that crazy partner you think they are seeing, ask about school or home, see ask about everything and if you can say something like 'This life isn't a bed of roses but surely there will be light at the end of the tunnel because every big star u see today has gone through something ' you don't necessarily have to make it direct just say it like a pick up line and just let it sink because you wouldn't want a suicide note waking you up one day and you start thinking what has gone wrong, He or she was just perfect the last time you met or u won't have in a thousand years guess that, that person would end his or her life...
So wake up  DEPRESSED people are around you CARE more.

DIARY OF A DEAD WOMAN☁️💭

It was beautiful and i felt like a princess who just got married to her Prince Charming, the feeling i had for him was above any word I could think of. But after the wedding he changed thou i knew that he had a dominating character before we got married and often he gets insecure over little things but this sudden metamorphosis was quite different. And the first day he slapped me and I cried he came begging and he promised never again but he did it again and again and again and these times it was not just a slap on a cheek nor on both, he beats and raped me. I thought about it, I wanted to leave him but my marriage was just 3years old and my children,my twins I can't render homeless, and what will the society say about me and my children? And i had promised for better, for worse so i strayed back and i swallowed my pain. And once in a while he came and he would act normally and I will forget he was violating me until we have a little fight and he does it again,so I suggested he needed help that he needs to see a specialist because evidently he was sick he took offense and he beats me saying I called him a mad person. And once again I thought about leaving him but I couldn't because the woman i ran into the day before said something about loose women who leave their homes and children because of little fights, the society won't accept me i thought to myself they will label me a loose woman and I couldn't talk to anyone because they would judge me just like my friends did so I strayed and I cried my sorrow and continued with the charade of leading a happy marriage with my perverted spouse.
But a day came when he got so crazy i was on the phone with my a male colleague from work so he came in and heard me giggle so he snatched the phone and hit it against the wall he held me by my hair and he threw me on the floor I landed on my head and I started bleeding profusely the dazziness I felt gave way to a dark and still place I couldn't fathom what was going on until I realized that it meant I was DEAD...🌫🌫
If I could go back and claim my life and the power I gave him to decide my destiny. If I could go back and take my children and toss his ring down his throat and shun what the society have to say because society isn't dead am the one who is lifeless. I have made my mistakes do not make the same for this violence which I couldn't raise my voice against has rendered me voiceless forever....

Body care means health🤗🤗

billiy_writes// Which year did you start your business?
Miss Amina musa// It was in 2016 after I wrote my waec examination.
billiy_writes//Wow thats interesting so who or should i say what inspired you to start your business?
Miss Amina musa// (took a deep breath).thats a big one well there was basically no inspiration,I just started like way back from secondary school i use to buy stickers in packs and will sell them in pieces so I can say that it came naturally.
billiy_writes// So do you have any siblings?
Miss Amina musa// Yes i do, we are 6 all in all i am the last but one child.
billiy_writes/ As you progressed who inspired you?
Miss Amina musa// My mum,she is my rock.
billiy_writes// What are the challenges you face on a daily basis while running your business?
Miss Amina Musa// Delivering my product to my client especially those who are not base in kaduna because often when I take the package to the park and it did not get to the client at the set time and they call me complaining I normally have a break down, because some people will even be thinking like you have cheated them but it's not like that at all, the driver will set the time for him to reach your state but God facilitates it.
billiy_writes// Are you currently in any love relationship?
Miss Amina Musa// (laughing) that's a tough one well yes am seeing someone but am not married.
billiy_writes// Did you start your brands all at once?
Miss Amina Musa// No i didn't it was one after the other because I don't believe in just jumping into things until I have something worthwhile.
billiy_writes// Do brief us about the history of your individual brands.
Miss Amina Musa// The first one which is for meems_scarves i started with the chiffon and afterward I stretched to other designs and fabrics, then i progressed to clothely_bymeems  which is the second one and it entails long evening gowns and kimonos sometimes I even add palazzo so it's all about clothing, while the third I created just few months back headband_bymeems i invented a headband which has substitute the use of newspaper to tie the famous Zarah Buhari's headtie.
billiy_writes// Do starting your kind of business requires large capital or what does one need in other to open your kind of business and also what type of attitude does one need?
Miss Amina Musa// No it doesn't requires large capital so long as you have a functioning phone and you can afford subscription and the zeal, you can start by creating a business account and just put pictures of your product with it price tag, And attitude you need to be sincere so your costumers will trust you and you need God too.
billiy_writes// That's quite fascinating , So are you in any school right now like pursuing a college degree?
Miss Amina Musa/ No am not,but I did try several times, the truth is in this country there isn't enough sincerity in offering the people that deserve admission a chance to learn so hopefully i will travel abroad to complete my education soon.
billiy_writes// what are your likes and dislikes and what will you wear on a normal day while carrying out your activities?
Miss Amina musa// I like ice cream, noodles, and honest people, and I dislike promise and fall it literally kills me, And I will put on my palazzo and top for my activities.
billiy_write// You are quite a striking woman, how's your relationship with your parents?
Miss Amina Musa/ (smile) My parents I love so much ,And my relationship with them is as perfect as the word itself.
billiy_writes// what are your contributions to the society and what will you like to change if you are given the opportunity?
Miss Amina Musa// I do try as much as possible to carry everyone along especially when my help has been asked directly either financially or otherwise, And the things I would change if given the opportunity is street begging which is very common here in the north because often my eyes gets teary when i see a little child begging.
billiy_writer// Where do you see yourself in say 5years?
Miss Amina musa// Being like the likes of Dangote(laughing) by God grace.
billiy_writes// So how's the responses you are getting from the society as a young woman your age doing business and the patronage too?
Miss Amina Musa// The response it ok i must say that they is a lot of support coming from people around me and the patronage is everything to write home about, And I also want to use this medium to appreciate my costumers I can never spell success without them.
billiy_writes//  What's the newest thing we should expect from you?
Miss Amina Musa// I have a shop now and it will be opened soon and I have named it 'house of meems' because it's going to house all my brands with a spice of makeup and salon.
billiy_writes// so before i let you go What is your advice to young people like you who want to start a business?
Miss Amina Musa// They should believe in themselves and not get distracted so long as i can do it and Dangote did it too they can and we can.
billiy_writes// It has been a pleasure having you miss Amina i wish you the very best in your business looking forward to seeing more of you in the future.

The leaders of tomorrow

You will hear them say they are fighters, that they fought their way to get to where they are and we need to do same...But the truth is the youth are trying infact it seems they had greater chances of succeeding during their days, I mean look at this generation today you would hardly come accross a  child who is not ready to read or one who doesn't have great talent but where is the sponsorship? Where is the free and fair right to education?Today you will find a child with full qualification begging, crying and in some cases loosing all sense of morality just for him to be granted admission, that which is his basic right as a citizen. So i ask how will they fight when there is the will but it's being truncated halfway? Where is the fairness so that you can proudly call them the leaders of tomorrow? Your children aren't here they probably are in one of the best colleges abroad, the strike doesn't affect them neither do their names get missing in the institution they applied for here at home even if they don't have as much the qualifications of the ones who's family don't have socio economic stance. Why render the poor ones useless? It's ok add as much fees as you can for education these families will go extra miles to send there children but don't destroy their dreams which you have no idea about.. This particular people am talking about,I don't know but if you are one of them,if you have ever denied any child a right to live his/her dreams am beseeching on their behalf let these dreams which requires you to sign or just add a name to a list grow and blossom...

You have the power to change anything because you have a voice 💪

Once upon a time I was a girl with great forecast with my head on my pillow I carefully crafted out my life, will be 16 by next year and will be in the university in two years,I will read and pray my way through and I will be happy...

But as i was making my plans my lord was making his too.

Now I find myself without any hopes of ever being taught in the four wall of the university, I have lost the parents who will sponsor me and without any kind relative to look my way as they showed their true colors and even took all I had along with my pillow on which i carefully crafted my perfect life. I couldn't have imagined that I will hawk a day before getting food to eat and little money to buy cheap clothes for i was once a princess in my father's house.. But here i am spending all my days on the street filled with thugs and cars driving in full speed and once in a while they look at me with contempt and behave indifferently towards me,if only they knew that few years back i was above all of that and I had dreams just like them they will treat me a little different

So here is to all the passerby's please don't treat people u see on the street hawking like they are not humans try as much as possible to be as kind because YOU DON'T KNOW OUR STORY.....
